Buzz Into the New Year

Setting Intentions for a Healthier Hive

New Year's resolutions usually center around health, growth, and fresh starts-and it turns out, bees could use the same energy. As winter holds tight, bees enter a crucial survival phase, relying on stored honey and a tightly knit hive. It's a reminder of the power of preparation and community.

At The Healthy Hive Foundation, we're channeling that same spirit into 2025. Our focus? Raising awareness about pollinator safety, educating the public about pesticide alternatives, and building more "bee safe" gardens across the state. One of our key missions this year is empowering schools and communities with pollinator-friendly planting kits and resources.

Neonicotinoids are still a major threat, often slipping under the radar in residential gardening and commercial agriculture. These pesticides affect bees' ability to navigate, reproduce, and defend their hives. While we continue to educate about their dangers, our broader vision is to strengthen ecosystems from the ground up.

Let's make this the year we think globally, garden locally, and act boldly-for the bees, the food chain, and our future. Whether you're a parent, teacher, or just bee-curious, we hope you'll join us in building a healthier hive in 2025.
